    a welcome address by PPRA President, Nina Scimenes. Doug Oliver, Director of Communications, PECO, will host and be the moderator of a dynamic panel.

    PPRA Hits the Big Apple

    Meet Insiders at NBC News, Bloomberg and the New York Times

    PPRA makes its annual trek to the Big Apple to meet decision makers at some of the industry’s top media outlets. This year, we’ll be hearing from representatives from NBC News, Bloomberg and the New York Times.

    Our agenda includes:

    • 10 a.m: Meeting to be announced later.
    • 11:30 a.m.: Lunch at LeBonne Soupe, 48 West 55th Street. During lunch, we will have a Q&A with Victor Limjoco, an NBC News Producer who can discuss the editorial direction of NBC Nightly News and upcoming projects such as MSNBC/NBC News' commemoration of Stonewall’s 50th anniversary and planning for 2020 Presidential Election coverage.
    • 2:30 p.m: Meeting at Bloomberg. Check out the beautiful, open air building that houses multiple TV studios, audio booths for radio interviews and a traditional newsroom. In total, 4,000 employees work round-the-clock at the financial media company. Learn what Bloomberg TV, radio and print has to offer clients.
    • 4 p.m.: Meeting at the New York Times. PPRA will take a tour of the newsroom, then hear about some new New York Times projects such as audio podcasts.

    Space is limited to 15 people so be sure to register ASAP.

    Registration Fee:

    $75 per person - LIMITED TO 15 PPRA MEMBERS

    Participants are responsible for their own transportation to and from NYC.

    The Philadelphia Public Relations Association (PPRA) will induct Gregg Feistman, assistant chair for public relations and associate professor of practice at Temple University, into the PPRA Hall of Fame at a luncheon on May 1, 2019 at the Ballroom at the Ben.  

    The PPRA Hall of Fame recognizes public relations professionals whose accomplishments have brought honor and recognition to the profession. The Award is the Philadelphia region’s most prestigious recognition of a public relations professional for his or her superior contributions to the industry, the community, and PPRA.

    Feistman directs Temple’s PR major, has expanded the program, and  mentored many students who are now leaders in the local communications field. His expertise includes reputation management, strategic communications planning, corporate sponsorship, crisis communications, media relations, and organizational communication. Feistman is also the faculty advisor for both Temple’s chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America, (PRSSA) currently celebrating its 50th Anniversary and PRowl Public Relations, Temple’s nationally affiliated, student-run PR firm.

    He was previously vice president and director of public relations for ING DIRECT, public relations manager for Pep Boys, and assistant vice president for corporate public relations at CoreStates Financial Corp. He has also served as a strategic consultant for Rohm and Haas, The Philadelphia Human Resources Professionals Society, and the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia.

    A long-standing member of PPRA, Feistman has served on the Public Affairs Committee, the Nominations Committee, and most recently  co-chaired the PPRA Mentoring Committee, where he helped restructure programming and orientations for new mentees.
